We were able to take a fun family trip to the Grand Canyon in July 2013. On our way to Kanab to stay with Cameron and Julie's family, we encountered a flash flood that swept across the highway. We waited for a while for the water to subside a little and then we were able to drive through it.
At the Grand Canyon with Alexa's friend Liz Marx and Cameron's family. The Grand Canyon has some really breathtaking views.
On the way back, Cameron had us stop and get a picture by the Roosevelt sign. If you can't tell, we are making U's with our fingers (for Union Cougars).
Here we are pointing the way to the trail...
The Roosevelt "point" trail. :)
On our second day, we went with Cameron's family to Kanab Creek and played in the sand and dirt. The kids had a fun time swinging out on a rope swing but coming back to shore because the water was a little sketchy by the dam.
After the creek, we went to Kanab park and let the kids clean off in the splash pad
To add to the water fun, we then went over to the Kanab pool and let the kids swim and have fun.
After Kanab, we made a stop in Toquerville and had a barbeque with family, then we headed up to Utah County to stay with Whitney and have her do our hair--here is how Katie's turned out.
We went to the Spanish Fork Rodeo and watched the fireworks, then we had our teeth cleaned and checked and headed for home. What a fun trip!
