PROM

Teach your boys to do better. Whitney's date had her friend ask her to the prom by text. He never communicated with her what they were doing or the time he was getting her. They kept texting Katie (Whitney's friend) on Saturday (the day of the prom) and telling her different things. Whitney was in her dress ready by 3:30, then they said they didn't want to go to dinner in tuxes, so she changed into levi's. She went over to Katie's to wait to go to dinner and they called Katie on her phone (around 6) to tell her they were getting close. The girls go outside (which wouldn't have happened if they had been at my house--the boy better get out of the car and come ring the bell) and the boys pull up dressed in tuxes. So Whitney came home to change back in to her dress and they called and asked her to drive back over to Katie's and meet them there--lame. I was taking Alexa to the pool so I went to Katie's and found them and took a picture. The one kid in the last picture didn't have his date yet.

Here are a few pictures of Alexa in her costume with her trophies. These are from her last dance recital.

ZOO WITH COUSINS

FUN AT THE PARK AND WITH COUSINS

Prom dress fitting

We went and tried on Whitney's prom dress the other day. It was sleeveless and we had them put the thick sleeve on. With Whitney being short, it is hard in those cap sleeves because they don't have any give. This thick sleeve made it more modest and it will be easier to dance with her 6 foot prom date.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACY

Tracy turned 40 on April 11. I took him to a play on Friday night and then we stayed the night at Anniversary Inn. We had planned a surprise party and Whitney did a fabulous job of pulling it off. While we were gone, she watched the kids and she decorated and got everything ready. I thought Tracy had probably found out by then, so I was surprised when he was actually surprised. We had 3 friends from work and their families, Lanny & Kathy and David & Jill with their 2 kids.
I had made all of the salads and stuff on Friday and hid it in the fridge downstairs. When we came home, everything was set out and I didn't pay too much attention to it. When we went to clean up, someone brought in a bowl with noodles and chicken--it was our left-over chicken caccitore from a couple of nights before. I sure hope that no one ate that like it was a pasta salad--they were probably dying.
We had a fun time and it was nice of everyone to come and support the old man. Happy Birthday Tracy

Whitney

I think that Dana was right when she said that our family seems to always have weird things going on medically. Whitney had what appeared to be a very large pimple that started on her face about a month ago. It would not go away and it would not come to a head. After a few weeks, I got looking at it and it was purple and raised and it looked a lot like a cyst--Tracy had one removed from his neck a couple of years ago. I got her in to the dermatologist and sure enough, it was a cyst. He said it was very deep and pretty big. We had him open it up and drain it. It seems to be better today--you can still see a scab, but hopefully it will go away soon, maybe just in time for Prom.

Hayden's Red Cast

Hayden got his new cast today. They x-rayed the arm again and it shifted a little, but not much. The Dr. said that kids this age heal so well and so fast that they could go ahead and cast it. When we x-ray it later, you will be able to tell that it was broke, but it should heal fine. Hayden is really proud of his red cast--he keeps saying that it is fun to have the cast. Due to the nature of the break, they still had to cast it above his elbow for right now. They are going to x-ray again in 3 weeks and if it is healing fine, they will probably be able to give him another cast that goes just below the elbow this time. Doesn't he look so cool.

Hayden is a monkey

Hayden had been told earlier in the day to stop hanging from the bars on my poster bed. He had shown me that he could now get up and hang by his knees upside down with no hands. When he came off that time he landed on his head on the bed and I thought he was going to break his neck. I warned him then. He decided not to listen and he was climbing back up again with a sword in his right hand when he fell and went clear to the floor--trying to stop himself with his right arm. When Katie came in screaming that Hayden hurt his arm, I had little sympathy until he held up his arm and there was a definite sag in it. I told Whitney she needed to drive us to the hospital and they had to put him to sleep for a little while in order to fix the arm. He is in a soft cast right now, but he will go next week and get a real cast. He wants to go to school this morning even though that makes me nervous. I guess we will try it and see how it goes. He is a monkey--funny thing, he hated gymnastics--the stretching irritated him.
