That last post didn't come out as I hoped--here is the collage I tried to post--fun either way.

Halloween Fun

Thanks mom and dad for the Halloween fun. We finally got around to using the stuff and the kids were so excited--even the teenagers. Whitney took FOREVER to make her witch's hat and she still has it up on the shelf. We had a great time and we were happy to spend the time together making fun holiday crafts.

Headaches

Whitney has been experiencing some really bad headaches. We have gone into the Dr. and we can't really find a cause of why she is having them. The Dr. thought that maybe we should get her eyes checked to see if that was part of the problem. I took her in to the eye doctor today and had her tested. He said that she has healthy eyes and that she is just slightly far-sighted but that he didn't think that would be causing such bad headaches. He put some lenses up to her eyes and had her look at some writing and she said that it did help and as weird as it sounds, her headache seemed to get better. (Of course she didn't tell me this until we were out of there). I told her that when we get money I will get her some reading glasses. The eye doctor thinks that with her doing hair (trying to concentrate up close) and reading for all her course work that that might be contributing. I guess that we will give it a try.

Temple

I went back to the temple today while the kids were out of school and could watch each other. When I got up to the Chapel, I went to sit down and the lady standing at the end of the bench to show people where to sit was my Aunt Shirley Huntsman. I gave her a hug and talked for a second. The session was really nice and it was good to just sit afterward and pray and contemplate.
The only weird thing was that there was a girl behind me that was taking out her endowments to be married. Occasionally I would look back and she was looking at her mom and rolling her eyes. At one point, she began to cry and her fiance kept looking at her and she would just ignore him. This all made me think that it won't be too long before I am going through with Whitney or Landon and I hope that I can prepare them enough that they can go through and feel of the beautiful spirit that is there, without reservation.
I went to pick up a set of plans at Westland and they called Trent up to the front. I had a little issue with Trent a couple of months ago and so I wasn't really thrilled. He had me come back to his office and in the end, he ended up being able to get one of our checks done for us so that we could cover payroll. We smoothed things over and he gave me a hug when I left.
I still feel like things will work themselves out--it is just the frustration of waiting.
Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers.

Picking out pumpkins

Sadly, I only had the support of Hayden and Katie to go pick out some pumpkins this year. Whitney was on a date to Sadie Hawkins. Landon didn't want to come and Alexa stayed home to play with a friend instead. I took Hayden and Katie and one of Hayden's friends to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin. Hayden loved playing on and in the Hay maze for kids, but Katie was so cold that she just grabbed her a pumpkin and got back in the car. I'm sure everyone will be complaining when they see the cute pumpkins we got.

Katie Pre-School

Katie has a wonderful preschool teacher who does so much with the kids. She is celebrating each child individually and Katie was the first to be celebrated. The kids all drew pictures of Katie and her teacher wrote some things about her and they put it into a book. Katie wrote something about herself and they put that in the book on the first page. The teacher gave her a puzzle and a little book too.
The other great thing is that she has Katie reading already. She is bringing home books and she is just sounding out the words--she is doing great.
Here is what Katie said about herself: In my own words...The best part about being me is that I have candy!
If I was a color, I would be the color stripes because it's on my shirt.
My absolute favorite thing in the whole world is candy.
My favorite person ever is my brother Landon because he tickles me and lets me sit on his lap at church. He's my best friend.
I wish so bad that I could go to 7 peaks.
If I was an animal, I would be a sheep because we're Jesus' sheep.
I don't like it when people punch me.
I think that I am amazing because I'm so cute.
I can play better than probably anyone else.

Her teacher was telling me that Katie says more with her eyebrows than most kids do with their whole faces. This is the note that she wrote:
Katie,
I am so happy to have you in preschool this year. I love how happy and very helpful you are. You are also so kind and smart and generous. I am glad that you are you because you are wonderful!
Love, Ettie

You can check out the things that Katie does in pre-school from my blog--her teacher has a blog that you can link to through mine.

Today

My brother Cameron has had a heroing couple of days. I won't go into detail right now about his experiences, but I sure hope that he is alright. We will continue to pray for him and his family.
Dana put a quote on her blog that she got off of Kung-Fu Panda. I liked that show and I thought that it had a few good quotes. Here is that quote that I am trying to hold on to right now about several things going on in our lives right now. "Yesterday is history, Tomorrow is a mystery, Today is a gift, that is why they call it the Present".

Sold

We had some good news today. Tracy sold one of the Semi trucks. We didn't make much above the loan due, but at least we don't owe the payment any more. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers--we really appreciate it.

Equipment

If anyone knows anyone who is looking for some good deals on equipment, let them know that we have some for sale. We just need to down-size to stay alive and I just keep thinking that selling off some of the equipment is the better way to go. Probably none of you really know of anyone--but it never hurts to ask.
