Alexa--5th grade honor roll

Alexa made 5th grade honor roll. To do this, you have to complete 12 out of 21 items. The items include things like try out for a school or community play, obtain 85% or higher on all of your grades, near perfect attendance, etc.. She worked hard and did a service project and tried out for a part in the school play--she didn't get one of the main parts--but she tried. She did extra book reports, kept up her grades and her attendance among other things. Here is a picture of her and her award. We are proud of her.

Year end programs and graduation

Alexa had her year-end program, I need a vacation, yesterday. The kid in the white shirt sitting next to her in the right of the picture is her friend Ryan who is Whitney's (boy)friend Jason's brother. Hayden and Katie had their graduation today and they are excited to be done. Hayden's teacher did write in his book that he needs to work on his attitude about learning, she said that he told her that "learning is stupid". I am sure we have our work cut out for us with that child. You've got to love them.

You think you have ghosts!!

I was working in the office on the computer this morning and I heard this big pop and then the sound of broken glass. I went to check on Hayden and Katie who were still asleep and then I began my search. I finally found the source of the problem, although I have no idea why it would happen. When I went in, there was a big hole in my shower door and the glass was just shattered. It continued to crackel and break while still in the garbage. I knocked the majority of it out and cleaned up the mess--now I need to look in to a replacement.

Whitney's final choir concert

Whitney had her final choir concert. She won't have enough time to do choir next year. She might go back to it her Senior year. They did very good, as always. I did take some video. I think I will save all the video from all of these end of the year things and put them all on at once. The picture with the choir performing, Whitney and Sami are the last two on the bottom at the left of the screen. The other two pictures are of her and Sami.

Hayden

The title should say it all. Hayden is so funny. He and Katie are not supposed to leave the back yard. I had gone in to take a quick shower and told them not to go anywhere. Tracy came home and when he went to leave, we went to check on the kids. They had gone out front and hopped in Tracy's truck. Katie was still in the truck and Hayden was standing behind the truck holding Tracy's license plate and cover in one hand and a screw-driver in the other. He just looked up and said "what do you need this for anyway". Needless to say, they sat in time out for a while.

On Saturday, Tracy had taken the little kids to the movie to get them out of my hair so that I could clean the house. Whitney was having a group of friends over for dinner before "last chance dance". Hayden had a birthday party for a friend and he was pretty late getting there after the movie. He only stayed maybe 20 minutes and he was back home with a treat bag. I asked him why he was home already when he didn't get there until late and the party still had a half an hour. He said, "they had cool treats and you only get the treats when you leave".

On another note, here are a couple of bad pictures of him playing t-ball. He says it is boring, but he doesn't think his team would play without him. He said that if he ever needed to be gone, we better call because they would never start the game.

Cast off today?? NOT!!

Hayden was supposed to get his cast off today--didn't happen. We went in to get it off and they x-rayed it and it wasn't quite ready. The Dr. said that it was 90% healed (really bad break). Dr. Penrod said that if it were Tracy or I, he would just take the cast off and say take it easy for a couple of weeks, but with Hayden, we all felt better about leaving one on. He did replace it with a water-proof cast that he can swim with or get wet. I guess we are in this one for a couple more weeks. It will be 8 weeks total if it comes off then.

Landon's last band concert

Landon had his last band concert yesterday. I only took one picture and it is not great. I took some video also, but I need to figure out how to post that. Landon is not going to be in band next year because with Seminary and Spanish, he didn't have enough credits left. I will post video if I can do that.
