Squirrels, Dolphins and Gators...oh my

This funny little squirrel had a home in a tree by the pool. He would come down and snack on crumbs he could find then he would lay out flat on the fence, he was pretty funny to watch.

I loved this sign placed near the edge of the ponds around our hotel and the other nearby hotels. The first time we came across this was when we were walking back to our hotel from dinner (in the dark) and the guy we were with thought he knew a shortcut--it took us right past all these ponds with these signs. I'm glad we weren't the gator's dinner.
Tracy braved the waves and went out and played in the ocean a little bit. I'm not so much a fan of being in the ocean--I prefer to walk the beach.

On our way back to the hotel, our cab driver stopped at a spot that he often sees dolphins. we immediately saw fins coming up out of the water. We were able to watch the dolphins for a while, although they never did come too close.

DisneyWorld

We spent one day at DisneyWorld. The couple we went to Florida with hadn't ever been to Disney, so we just went to Magic Kingdom. We had a great time. We were so grateful for my mom who came out to Roosevelt to watch our kids for the week.

Lake Buena Vista Florida

Tracy had a business meeting in Florida and he decided since his hotel, meals and airfare were already paid for, we would pay the additional amount for my ticket and for me to accompany him. We stayed at Embassy Suites in Lake Buena Vista. It was sunny, warm and nice the whole week. We had a nice vacation.

Ghost towns and treasure hunting

Tracy had to go back home on Wednesday so he could work a couple days. Grandma wanted to show us "treasure mountain" and Grafton ghost town so we loaded up the kids and took a trip. Here are some pictures of Hayden and Katelyn standing in front of the same houses that I stood in and looked out the window as a little girl. They have the renovated the buildings somewhat but they have them locked, so we couldn't go inside. After Grafton, we took a wild trip up to Gooseberry Plateau. The road up was steep and very rocky. Grandma thought we should give up and call it quits a couple times.  I kept thinking that the road had to get better shortly. We came across some road workers when we got to the top of the hill and the road was looking better. I stopped and asked if we were going the right direction and how the road was from there and if he thought I could make it ok. He looked at me and looked at my car and looked at me like I was nuts and said "if you made it up that, you'll be fine" and kind of chuckled. The road to Gooseberry Plateau was much better and we came out the other side in Apple Valley on a much better road. I'm sure that guy thought we were crazy.

Spring Break in Southern Utah

We had our Spring Break the first week of April. We went down to Southern Utah to visit grandma and grandpa McQuivey and Kevin and Andrea. I forgot to get any pictures with Kevin and Andrea and their kids, but we had a great time. We took the kids swimming and had pizza for dinner and just sat around and talked and enjoyed each others company. We went hiking with grandpa at Zion's National Park. We had a barbeque with Ryan and Jen one night and with Cameron and Julie the next night. Great times getting warmed by the sunshine.
